The price will be about $45,000 before the $7,500 federal tax credit plus any state incentives which could bring the actual cost of the car down closer to $35,000. The cost to drive the car every day is estimated at $3 for every 100 miles compared to $17 for a comparable gas powered car.

The styling seems fairly plain and doesn’t screen electric car but if If Coda can deliver quality and performance they will have a very popular car. I was actually surprised to see such a Volvo-like design for a new electric car. I would assume that most early electric car adopters would want something a little more futuristic looking. Hopefully for the folks at Coda they will fill niche for practical electric car buyers. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how the real thing drives.
